Racehorse Cubes Ingredients
Racehorse Cubes – What’s in the Bag?
Racehorse Cubes are made using a blend of grains, lupins and fibre sources. Horses in full work at a high level, need energy from a range of sources to fuel the different metabolic processes in their body.
Our key ingredients include:
Barley
- Barley is an energy-dense feed source for horses, with a good amount of protein. It needs to be processed before feeding, and our milling process cooks and optimises the nutrient availability in the grain to make it easily digestible.
- Barley is considered to support conditioning and weight gain in horses.
- Barley provides fast-release energy, primarily from starch, which is essential for horses doing fast-paced work.
Oats
- Oats are a good source of fast-release energy for performance horses.
- The form of starch in oats is highly digestible, making it an efficient source of energy.
- Oats are high in fibre, and the lowest starch and sugar of all the grains
Lupins
- Lupins are a legume, and are a cool, slow-release source of energy and protein
- Lupins are low in starch and sugar
- Lupins are high in fibre and have a good amount of pectins which feed the healthy bacteria in the gut.
Lucerne
- Lucerne is a legume forage that is highly nutritious and a quality source of protein and fibre
- It is high in essential amino acids and calcium
- Lucerne is generally low in starch and sugar
Mill Mix
- Mill Mix is created during wheat milling, and is a high fibre, high protein but controlled starch ingredient, with a much lower starch content than bran.
- It is highly palatable and digestible
