Product benefits

  • Formulated specifically for commercial studs and performance horse breeders to maximise health and development on WA pastures and forages

  • Promotes condition and production in broodmares during pregnancy and lactation while optimising growth and development in foals and young horses

  • High in fibre and digestible energy sources, carefully balanced to support sound growth and reduce the impact of OCD

  • Quality protein-rich formula with high levels of lysine and amino acids for increased milk production and optimum muscle development

  • High levels of key minerals and vitamins to support bone and soft tissue development to promote long-term structural health

  • Includes Acid Buf to provide buffering and support a healthy digestive environment in the stomach and hindgut

  • Added pre and probiotics to increase beneficial gut bacteria, and promote gut and immune health and function

Why choose Elite breeder cubes:

Western Australian pastures and conditions can often result in deficiencies, so we’ve included higher levels of calcium, with balanced phosphorous and magnesium to offset any issues and maintain bone strength and structural integrity.

The three major limiting amino acids, Lysine, Methionine and Threonine are included in high amounts to ensure protein synthesis can occur correctly to support muscle and bone formation and milk production in mares.

Like our Horse Grower Weaner Pellets, we’ve kept a balanced level of energy with the ideal ratio to protein to support sound growth and development and reduce the risk of OCD.

Acid Buf is made from the sustainably harvested calcified skeleton of red seaweed (Lithothamnion calcareum) and provides a unique source of highly bioavailable calcium and magnesium with superior buffering capacity.

Acid Buf can:

  • Help to stabilise hindgut pH and maintain it over a prolonged period of time
  • Reduce the risk of acidosis and digestive upset
  • Support optimal fibre fermentation and nutrient absorption
  • Improve digestive comfort
  • Improve feed conversion efficiency
  • Support a more consistent performance

Pre & probiotics are invaluable in breeding feeds, as mares need their guts to be effective at digesting the fibre in their diet, and young horses benefit while they establish their own microbiome.

Prebiotics are ‘fuels’ that aren’t digestible by the horse but instead feed and nourish the good microbes in their gut.

Probiotics are ‘life microbes’ and feeding them adds good living microbes to the gut, stabilising and promoting a healthy microbial population.

Without a good microbial population in the hindgut, a horse is not able to effectively digest plant fibre material.
