Jess KJ: The Eventing Year of 2016

What a year I’ve had so far, full of horse competitions and training (not that I’m complaining!). Having two horses to ride and juggling two full time study courses has been a challenge…

Although it seems to be paying off with winning the WAYER CIC 1* event followed by winning the Harvey CNC 1* event! And then driving all the way to Melbourne to compete in the International 3DE. Lastly, being able to not only finish my first 2* competition at Gidgegannup ODE but also winning the class, I can definitely say all the hard work is paying off.

Juggling two courses has been a lot of hard work, although I’m happy to say that I have completed all modules and my practical exam for my Equine Bowen course. In order to receive my certificate all I need to do now is sit my theory exam, hopefully by the end of the year. With my Paramedical Science course I still have 2 years to go.

By the end of this year I’m hoping to finish on 2* with Hard Target and complete an intro 2 (65cm) on my young horse, Dolly. I’m also hoping to enter Dolly in the 4 year old young event class by the end of this month as well as enter Hard Target in the Eventing in the Park show at the beginning of December.

I’m truly grateful to all my sponsors and especially my parents because without all of you, I wouldn’t be able to fulfill my goals and dreams.
