Lami-Free is an equine hoof supplement suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis.

Lami-Free is a hoof supplement developed to provide nutritional maintenance of the laminae. It is suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis.

Horses with laminitis (also known as founder) experience inflammation of the laminae of the foot. Laminitis is characterised by hot and painful hooves and obvious lameness when moving.

Prevention and treatment of laminitis involve addressing the cause of this painful condition in partnership with your veterinarian and farrier. A laminitis supplement such as Dodson & Horrell’s Lami-Free may be used to assist with the repair and maintenance of hoof tissue.

Dodson & Horrell are a UK company awarded the Royal Warrant as horse feed manufacturer to HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Lami-Free is a dried organic herbal blend containing all natural ingredients:

  • Nettle
  • Rosehips
  • Seaweed
  • Garlic Granules

The Lami-Free equine supplement was created following an observation that cloven animals grazing on seaweed at the coastline never seem to have problems with their feet.

This may have something to do with the fact that seaweed contains many minerals, amino acids and vitamins. Not all seaweed is created equal though – some have metal residues or too much iodine.

The seaweed in Dodson & Horrell’s Lami-Free is certified organic from Connimara in Southern Ireland on the Atlantic Coast and has passed all tests. Herbalist David Hussey blends fine cut rosehips with the seaweed – these ingredients mixed together are doing amazing things for horses with hoof problems.

Lami-Free also contains nettle for healthy circulation and immune function.

A small, safe dose of garlic added for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties completes the Lami-Free formula.

When suffering from laminitis, the blood within the laminae becomes hot and black. The Lami-Free blend has been formulated to help reduce the heat and return the colour of the blood in the laminae back to normal.

Many owners around the world call Lami-Free their Spring-time lifesaver!

Lami-Free Testimonials

“We saw improvements just 10 days into using the Dodson & Horrell ‘Lami Free’ Herbal blend. The little grey pony could barely stand and each step was painful. We even had her feet padded and bandaged to make it easier for her. She now runs everywhere! It has given our beautiful ponies a new lease on life. I have recommended the product to many people, including one over east, who has also had amazing results”.

Anyone who has ever had a laminitis prone horse knows the stress and worry if managing their health and wellbeing. D&H Lami-free takes the stress out by aiding the blood flow to the hooves and supporting your horse through the year. Lami-free has given us a chance to support laminitis prone horses though the seasons with less stress and intervention than precious years.

  2. Sophie Warren Equestrian

This year has been difficult for laminitis with an amazing hay growing season bringing high-sugar hay to feed sheds across WA. D&H Lami-Free has allowed us to support the horses prior to developing feet issues as well as supporting those who have suffered. A great addition to the diet and the horses love it!

  3. Caroline Maycroft

Owning a Haflinger and knowing that one of their main concerns can be issues with laminitis has always concerned me. I am always extremely careful with what I feed and knowing I now have the assistance of Lami free is a huge relief. Along with an extremely controlled diet exercise and Lami free I feel his weight is maintained as best as a hungry haflingers can be. He seems to enjoy and it is easy to add to the hard feed daily.
