Acid Buf™ Now Included in T&R Equine Muesli range

Acid Buf™ Now Included in T&R Equine Muesli range

We’re excited to release our new and improved formulas across our equine muesli range. Hi-Performance Muesli, Oat-Free Muesli and Horse Muesli (now Active Horse Muesli) now include Acid Buf™.

Including Acid Buf in performance horse diets helps to protect gut health, particularly in horses on higher-grain or energy-dense diets.

What is Acid Buf?

Acid Buf is made from the sustainably harvested calcified skeleton of red seaweed (Lithothamnion calcareum) and provides a unique source of highly bioavailable calcium and magnesium with superior buffering capacity.

Acid Buf can:

  • Help to stabilise hindgut pH and maintain it over a prolonged period of time
  • Reduce the risk of acidosis and digestive upset
  • Support optimal fibre fermentation and nutrient absorption
  • Improve digestive comfort
  • Improve feed conversion efficiency
  • Support a more consistent performance

New formulas and bag updates:

The updated formulas are now in production, and we have updated our bags to reflect these changes. These products will be moving into the new style of bags which feature the icons and energy bars like you’ve seen with our Lupin Fibre Cubes, Lupin Fibre Boost and Calm Care Plus.

Our Hi-Performance Muesli is the first bag to changeover, and the other products will follow once we’ve used up our existing bag stock. And guess what? We’re not increasing the price with this formula change, so you get even more bang for your buck.

You might recognise sponsored rider Jodi Dunlop featuring on our Oat-Free Muesli bags, and ‘Bustler’ trained by Neville Parnham on our Hi-Performance Muesli bags.

‘Horse Muesli’ becomes ‘Active Horse Muesli’

We’ve also updated the name of Horse Muesli to become Active Horse Muesli, to better reflect the product and the types of horses and ponies it can suit. Active Horse Muesli contains a blend of flaked grains including oats, but is not as high in energy as our Hi-Performance Muesli so more suited to a range of workloads.

Oat-Free Muesli does not contain oats, instead focusing on lower fizz sources of energy. It is ideal for those wanting a low-fizz muesli, for horses prone to tying up or for trainers that want to add their own oats to feed.
